Hijab is an
Arabic word that means
curtain or
cover that basically means
“to cover, to veil or to shelter”. In
Islamic legal dictionary it is defined as the type of modest dressing that covers entire body except the face and the hands while in public. The
Wear Hijabhas a wider meaning of
solitude, morality and diffidence in
Islam. In the
Quran, the
Muslim holy book, the term
khimar has been given for headscarf or veil and not a hijab. In common English speaking world or in modern
Arabic language hijab is understood as a type of head covering that
Muslim women wear traditionally.
In
Islam it is necessary for the
Muslim women to
wear a
hijab whenever they are outside of their home or in the presence of other men. By
wearing the
hijab Muslim
women get various benefits for her as well as to the society as a whole. It is a modest
dress for
Muslim women. The misapprehension about the
Muslim women that they are forced to
wear hijab is absolutely wrong. It is simply worn because they belief in
God and think that they are following the principle of
clothing given by
God.

However in
Islam the other definition of a
hijab is that it is a
dress which covers all which might arouse instincts. In this way
wearing hijab is very beneficial for women. It would keep a
woman safe not only in the place where she lives but also to whatever place she goes. Nowadays
hijab comes in variety of
colors,
styles and patterns. Because of this
Muslim women are coming with ways of making themselves notable and graceful. With creative and attractive designs available in
